Steps to How To Sideload iOS Apps With Cydia Impactor
Follow these simple steps to sideload iOS apps to iPhone or iPad on Windows or Mac.
Step 1: Download the “Cydia Impactor” tool from cydiaimpactor.com. You can download it free-of-charge but make sure to download the right version for your OS (either macOS or Windows).
Step 2: After that, extract the contents of the downloaded Cydia impactor package and save the files somewhere safe on the machine.
Step 3: Now IPA file of the app will be needed that you want to sideload. Note that DEB files don’t work with Cydia Impactor. This IPA file will be completely different from every application.
Step 4: After successfully locating the IPA file of the app, connect the iOS device to your Mac or PC through USB. The latest version of iTunes must be installed on that machine.
Step 5: Now go to stored files that downloaded above and launch “Cydia Impactor executable file”.
Step 6: Select the connected device from the first dropdown as shown in picture.
Step 7: Now you will need to drag and drop the downloaded app’s IPA file onto the Cydia Impactor window.
Step 8: It will then ask for an Apple ID of an Apple Developer account to sign the app with for sideloading on the device. Enter a valid Apple ID and password of an Apple Developer account and click “OK”.
Step 9: Then you will receive a dialogue box warning that any existing Apple Developer certificate will be revoked and replaced. Then select “OK” to continue.
Step 10: Now you have to wait patiently for few seconds as the Cydia Impactor will handle the heavy lifting of fetching the relevant certificates and will digitally sign the IPA to validate it.
Step 11: Once sideloading is completed, you will be able to see the app’s icon on the Home screen. Now move to Settings → General → Profile & Device Management and find the profile that just installed. Now tap on it and “Trust” the certificate to allow it to run.
And that’s it. You can now go back to the Home screen and tap on the sideloaded app’s icon to run it on your non-jailbroken iPhone or iPad.
