Niantic, the developer of successful “Pokémon Go” game for iOS and Android, has confirmed the news that Nearby feature is being actively worked on for fixing the incorrect vibration notifications bug in game.
This feature was designed to alert Trainers when a Pokémon reaches close to a PokéStop in the surrounding area of the current location of trainer. The reason behind the activation of those alerts has been identified by the developer and now intense work is being done to fix it.
Huge round of applaud should be given to the development team of Pokémon Go for always showing vigilance when it comes to releasing period updates with new features, as well as quick fixing any bugs either on iOS or Android.
Nearby functionality helps the users to know about potential nearby Pokémon, and more specifically, vibration alerts are made to aware the user of nearby citters. However, it is being reported that some users are getting wrong vibration notifications. As the statement of Niantic came,
We are aware of and actively working on a fix for a bug that causes incorrect vibration notifications related to the Nearby Pokémon feature.
The Nearby feature has proven to be a great addition to the Pokémon Go title but also created some sort of contention among users over its availability on a periodic basis. As it’s being claimed that not everyone is getting access to this feature who is playing the game on a daily or semi-regular basis.
Upon its introduction, Niantic passed it through trails in the San Francisco area to make sure the control of company over the availability of the feature. Recent announcements confirmed that additional localities have been added now it’s available “in most regions of the world”.
As Niantic tested this feature with a limited audience, and then he finally pushed it out on a global scale on the basis of that, this kind of bug was bound to be discovered which can make the feature unusable. But great news is, Niantic have acknowledged the issue and working on an immediate fix which will be handled server-side.
